This festival in Lille, France, focuses on live performance in which the body is a primary component. Three Swiss productions will be part of this year’s festival: «Hate» by Laetitia Dosch, «Conférence de choses» by François Gremaud / 2b company and «Happy Island» by La Ribot & Dançando com a Diferença.

The project questions artificial intelligence, big data and human predictability: a group of 50 people set off in the host city, wearing headphones and guided by a synthetic voice, leading them to perform an experiment on themselves. Each new city-specific creation builds upon the previous version.

A show centered on Shakespeare’s female figures and the relationship between women and power: power that is exercised and coveted as well as the power of fighting. The project particularly focuses on gender discrimination, and the uses and abuses of power.

Recognized by UNESCO on its list of intangible cultural heritage, the Fête des Vignerons takes place once in every generation. It connects people from villages, the countryside and vineyards, locals and outsiders in a spectacular show unique in the world. In 2019 it will be staged by Daniele Finzi Pasca.

For the first time, Pro Helvetia is supporting the presence of Swiss performing arts productions at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with its Swiss Selection Edinburgh. The works featured this year are «21» by Mats Staub, «8:8» by Mercimax and «Traumboy/Traumgirl» by Daniel Hellmann & Anne Welenc.
