Springtime Dance

From 12 March on, Les Printemps de Sévelin in Lausanne invites the audience to welcome spring with a varied programme of dance and performance.

The festival takes place from 12 to 31 March and offers the opportunity to see innovative work from emerging and established Swiss and international artists. This year’s edition will feature world premieres by Perrine Valli and Simon Crettol, a double bill by Sarah Bucher & Victor Poltier, a show by Thibault Lac & Tobias Koch and many other performances.

Perrine Vallin: «Cloud», 15 March at Théâtre de l’Octogone:
«Cloud» questions the impact of technology on different generations. How to adapt to cyber-savvy youth. How to transmit values and inspire young people. And how to learn from them. Perrine Valli approaches these questions, together with performers of various ages, from youngsters to seniors.

Sarah Bucher & Victor Poltier: «Sugar Sugar», 19 & 20 March, Théâtre Sévelin 36
The two young artists will take the public gently by the hand into an amusing, yet disturbing world. «Sugar Sugar» dives deep into a meditation on the end, guided by two silent but friendly beings.

Simon Crettol: «Raphaël», 21 & 22 March, Théâtre Sévelin 36
Coming from the underground scene of Waacking and Hip-Hop, Simon Crettol is a rather unusual artist. This show is infused with a joyful and mystical atmosphere, its ambiance lying somewhere between a Milanese catwalk and a gloomy chapel, where Crettol summons up the female figures who haunt his inner world.

Thibault Lac & Tobias Koch: «Such Sweet Thunder», 28 & 29 March, Théâtre Sévelin 36
Musician Tobias Koch and dancer Thibault Lac come together at the border where concert, performance and sound installation meet. In a landscape conceived in dialogue with the visual artist Tore Wallert, «Such Sweet Thunder» plunges into a surreal world, inhabited by a multitude of voices, fragments of narration and altered body states.
